Gift of Estonians to Dedoplistskaro
As our readers know, in 2021-2023, in Dedoplistskaro Municipality, the Estonian Rural Tourism Organization in partnership with the Dedoplistskaro Tourism Development Association implemented a project funded by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (ESTDEV) „Development of Rural Tourism product in Dedoplistskaro region in Georgia“.
The project’s objective was to improve the quality of tourism services and products in the Dedoplistskaro region by raising awareness and improving the knowledge and skills of local tourism entrepreneurs. It also aimed to support the improvement of the attractiveness of the Dedoplistskaro region as a tourism destination.
TOURISM MAP of DEDOPLISTSKARO
Within the framework of the project:
- In accordance with the local needs and situation, a sustainable tourism product quality management system and criteria for various tourism services were created;
- Made “GOOD HOST” labels for successful businesses;
- Local quality experts were trained;
- A practical quality management manual was developed for consultants and businesses on the quality system and criteria in English and Georgian languages;
- Trainings were held for local businesses involved in tourism;
- A study visit was made to Estonia for 25 people to share the experience.
At the end of the project, outdoor maps of the district attractions and services were made for local businesses to promote Dedoplistskaro tourism businesses. The maps are already in Dedoplistskaro.
