Elaioba (2nd August) – The day of the St. Elia, the master of the weather is celebrated. The church calendar on this day also celebrates the day of the prophet Ilia Tesbitel. In addition to the this day, if there was draought not only people, but also the church was praying to the saint and asking rain. This day specially is celebrated in Dedoplistskaro, where St. Ilia Thezbteli’s Cathedral is located on the Elia’s mountain from the sixth century. The parish is specially brought to Dedoplistskaro from different parts of Georgia on this day.
